Our Reviews

Perfect. 4 people two rooms and we stayed three nights. Estelle's attention to detail was amazing. The place was spotless and well thought out. We had to ask for nothing. Everything was thought of well before we knew we needed it. Charming atmosphere and the food was unmatched throughout our trip. The breakfast porridge was so good that you were unable to find anything like it any where else. Estelle was very helpful in giving us tips or hints on our day trips. Often times saving us time and headache with her advice. I would never hesitate to return and or to recommend her with 5 stars. S S S S S

Best B&B of our Ireland trip! We stayed at 7 different B&Bs during our 9 days in Ireland and Estelle O'Driscoll's B&B was the most welcoming and hospitable. Highlights include 1 large and comfortable rooms, 2 a warm greeting which included tea and homemade pie, 3 her friendly dog Freddie, and 4 a sunroom that she allowed us to hang out in for several hours. Although Glin is off the beaten path a bit, it is a wothwhile diversion for a comfortable evening to wind down from your travels. S S S S S

From the simple entrance you can't tell what a lovely home is awaiting you inside. Estell is a lovely hostess. Everything is well thought and with a lot of lovely details. You have eveything you need two WIFI networks, tea&coffee in the room, hairdryer, modern clean bathroom, etc. The breakfast was the best we had so far in any B&B and a great variety to choose from. The pub next door was also good and prices reasonable. I would love to go back and I would definitely recommend this B&B to anybody. Thanks Estell, we will definitely return to Ireland and to your home. S S S S S

Definitely the best B&B on our trip around Ireland! It is beautifully located in the centre of the picturesque village of Glin, and both our rooms and the breakfast room with a lovely view of the garden were furnished and decorated so tastefully. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic -- we're still talking about the waffles and pancakes! A big thank you to Estelle, who anticipated our every wish and did everything to make the stay perfect for us adults and our little son. S S S S S

Hi I stayed here recently and thought this was a lovely place. Highlights were fabulous fluffy pancakes with fresh strawberries, plums and natural yoghurt - really tasty and good coffee! Also really liked the sun room, really comfortable, loved Freddy the gorgeous cocker spaniel and really recommend O'Shaughnessy's pub for a great Guinness. Recommended B&B S S S S S

History & Activities
Enjoy a leisurely walk along the River Shannon or head off on one of the side roads & enjoy the Scenic Views of the Shannon Estuary & the local Countryside. There are a number of Nature walks in the area - Tarbert, Glin, Loughill, & Foynes to name a few . Between Foynes & Askeaton you will find the Aughinish Nature Reserve.

Between the village of Loughill & Foynes you will find the award winning Boyce Gardens. These wonderful gardens are open to the public during Summer months. Here you will find a selection of plants most suited to Irish conditions.

Our B&B. is an Ideal Touring Base for the Mid-west & South-West of Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, The Ailwee Caves, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park as well as the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney /Killarney National Park & the Ring of Kerry are all within easy reach for day trips.

The Tarbert / Killimer Shannon Car Ferry is only a 10 min. drive away & runs every half hour during Summer Months.

We have a resident pod of Dolphins at the mouth of the Shannon Estuary. Boat Trips depart every day from Kilrush & Carrigaholt Co. Clare.

Take a 30 min drive west to the Seaside town of Ballybunion where you will find a beautiful beach & The Famous Ballybunion Golf Links which was designed by Tom Watson.

Glin was once famous as a salmon fishery. Glin Castle is the seat of the Knight of Glin, whose family (Fitzgerald) have had lands here for over 700 years. The castle is owned and occupied by the 29th Knight of Glin and is now a luxury hotel. The glorious Demesne is a formal garden featuring well-kept shrubs, blooming flowers and a fine vegetable garden used to grow vegetables prepared in the castle kitchen. The parsons Restaurant just outside the village offers the best of food all year round.
